The University of Alberta is one of the premier research-intensive universities in Canada. Known widely as a research powerhouse, its scientists, scholars, and artists attract approximately $400 million in funding each year. The Department of Psychology has a vibrant, active research culture including 34 academic staff members, 5 postdoctoral fellows, and 60 graduate students. Our faculty and trainees hold grants from all Canadian Tri-Council funding agencies, as well as provincial, international, and university funding sources. Collectively, we publish 200-300 research articles and chapters per year, participate as editors in the leading Psychology journals, serve on major grant review committees, and regularly receive major awards for teaching, research, and community service.
