Instructions for Using Flashcards

Enter your student ID number (or your Campus Computing ID) and click Start .

If you have never used these flashcards before, a message will pop up saying “You have no topics entered. Please select Create a New Topic on the next screen to begin.”

Click on Create a New Topic . Enter a TOPIC, or a title for a specific category of terms and definitions. Click Create New Topic Add Terms & Definitions .

In the Term text field, type your term or question. In the Definition text field, type the corresponding definition or answer. Click Add Terms & Definitions. Repeat these steps to add more terms. If you are finished adding terms, click on Finished Adding.

If you would like to edit your topic information (i.e. rename your topic, delete an entire topic, etc.), pick your topic from the Choose Topic dropdown menu, then click on EDIT Topic Information. To delete your topic, click Delete Existing Topic. To rename a topic, click in the text field, type or delete as needed, and click Rename Existing Topic. To edit terms and definitions for that existing topic, click on Edit Terms & Definitions. You can also choose Edit Terms & Definitions from the main menu by choosing the topic from the dropdown menu and clicking on the Edit Terms & Definitions button.

To study a topic as flashcards, choose a topic from the Choose Topic dropdown menu, and then click on:

Flashcards – Term/Definition to see the term followed by the definition.
• i. The term will first pop up, and by pressing See Definition, you will see the corresponding definition. Click on Next to move on to the next term, or Previous to review the term.

Flashcards – Definition/Term to see the definition followed by the term.
• i. The definition will first pop up, and by pressing See Term, you will see the corresponding term. Click on Next to move on to the next definition, or Previous to review the definition.

While studying flashcards, you can increase or decrease the font size by clicking on the arrows below the flashcard window.

To repeat a certain set of terms/definitions once you have completed them, a window will pop up asking if you would like to repeat that same set. Click Yes to repeat, click No to go back to the main menu. *This option is continually being updated. Please check back soon.

To Email Yourselves The Flashcards Set (Access from other computers)

Open My Computer and click on Local Disk C. From there, open the following folders: Documents and Settings > End User* > Application Data > Macromedia > Shockwave Player > Prefs >**

* - This could be End User, or the name of the User of the particular computer.
** - This will be a mix of 8 letters and numbers.

When you open the last folder, there will be THREE files that you must copy. They will include your user name, followed by a 1, 2 and T. E.g. If your user name is Ksoco, your three files will look like this:

Ksoco1
Ksoco2
KsocoT

Attach these three files into an email and send this email to yourself. To download these files onto another computer, download the attachments to the same folder using this pathway: Open My Computer and click on Local Disk C. From there, open the following folders: Documents and Settings > End User* > Application Data > Macromedia > Shockwave Player > Prefs >**

** - This will be a mix of 8 letters and numbers.
