Arjun Sharma

Psychology MSc candidate

Arjun developed his love for rhythms at a young age, much like his mentor, Clay. He began learning how to keep time while playing the piano, moving on to the bass, and then the guitar. With the addition of Arjun, the Brain Rhythms Lab is now ready to rock (or at least ready to try a few duets)

Arjun did his Honours degree in Psychology at the University of Western Ontario under Dr. Michael J. Boisvert, studying the constituent components of episodic-like memory in invertebrates. During his time at UWO, Arjun was also a research assistant in the Social Cognition lab, working under Dr. Bertram Gawronski, studying associative and propositional processing.

Arjun decided to venture out West from his hometown of Burlington, Ontario to do graduate studies in order to learn some new experimental methods and perspectives on brain functioning. Hopefully, he’ll be able to tie some of these in with models of memory that can in turn shed light on memory processes in humans, especially the role of sleep. The camping, hiking, and plentiful magpies are all Alberta bonuses.

Although ensconced in “Oiler Country” he continues (however irrational and dangerous it may be) to have hopes for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
