Caitlin Hughes

Intern Research Assistant

As a dancer since the tender age of 3, Caitlin never imagined that the idea of rhythm would completely take over her mind!

Caitlin is in her fourth year of her undergraduate degree specializing in Psychology. She began her first two years at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton and then transferred over to the University of Alberta.

Looking to gain some perspective and experience in research, Caitlin enrolled in the Industrial Internship program offered by the Department of Psychology. At first a little hesitant about a 16 month break from classes, she is now an essential member of the Brain Rhythms Lab, ordering supplies and equipment, and more importantly, performing experiments that work towards making Clay famous. Currently, she is examining how protein synthesis inhibitors influence spontaneous activity states in the hippocampus.

Originally from Edmonton, Caitlin would like to venture eastward to complete graduate studies. Her preference would be an east coast university but anything east of Vegreville would do.
