Dr. Robbie Case - Early Academics

Robbie's family was quite religious and placed a strong value on service to others. Before enrolling at McGill University, Robbie decided he would spend the year after earning his degree volunteering in another country.

True to his word, in 1965 (after receiving his B.Sc in psychology) Robbie traveled to a small kibbutz in Israel, where he would teach English. With no previous knowledge of the language, Robbie's innovative way of learning was to promise his students that for every English word they learned, he would learn a Hebrew word. Before the year was over, he was fluent in Hebrew and was capable of teaching high school physics at the kibbutz.
