Dr. Robbie Case - Later Academics
Even though Dr. Case had always been drawn to California, he strongly believed that the federal government was responsible for providing citizens with a safety net in times of need. He found this missing in the United States, and for this reason, above all academic and personal ones, Dr. Case returned to OISE in 1993.
By this time, Dr. Case had written another book, The Mind's Staircase. In it, he outlined proposed stages of development in relation to academic activities and abstract concepts in children. The book was well received, and caused curriculum changes in most of North America. Researchers at the University of Toronto are still examining Dr. Case's theoretical predictions.
