Dr. Donald Meichenbaum - Research

These days, Dr. Meichenbaum is a distinguished professor emeritus (retired) but is still "very much associated with the University of Waterloo." He spends his winters in Miami, Florida heading the Melissa Institute, and returns to Canada to enjoy the spring and summer at Waterloo.

Dr. Meichenbaum's goal is to "give psychology away". He feels that after years of studies, his duty is to use knowledge to make the world a better place. True to his word, Dr. Meichenbaum has done countless interviews and conferences, teaching educators, researchers, and laymen how and when violence occurs, in hopes of ultimately decreasing the level of trauma in the world. "I am still a 'people watcher'," he says.
