World of Warcraft Vocabulary and Expertise Survey

Thank you for your interest in our study! We're interested in looking at how people learn the lingo of World of Warcraft as they play the game and how it relates to English language proficiency. As of August 8, 2011, due to the wonderful outpouring of support from players, we've gotten hundreds of submissions and have plenty to base our study on!

Since we've gotten enough data, we won't be using any futher submissions for data analysis. If you're curious about what the survey contains, or just want to take it for fun, the survey is still available for public interest. The first part is a short English vocabulary test, and the second part is a vocabulary test for words from World of Warcraft. It should take around fifteen to twenty minutes, and the survey won't record any data for research use.

This project has been reviewed and approved by the University of Alberta Arts, Science and Law Research Ethics Board.
