Welcome to the PSYCO 299 Web Page

PSYCO 299 is a course offered by the Department of Psychology to undergraduates in their second year. The calendar description is as follows:

Calendar Description

*1.5 (fi 3) (either term, 0-0-3). A credit/no-credit course for supervised participation in a faculty research project. Normally taken after completion of a minimum of 30 but not more than 60 units of course weight in a program in the Faculty of Science. Prerequisite: GPA of 2.5 or higher, PSYCO 104, PSYCO105, and consent of department. Project and course information available at ROP web site or Department of PSychology. Prospective enrollees in PSYCO 299 must apply to Department of Psychology. Application does not guarantee an ROP position. Credit for this course may be obtained twice. PSYCO 299 an opportunity for students to gain volunteer research experience in a psychological setting.

  • Feb 21: PSYCO 299 projects posted to the webpage.
March
  • Mar 15: Deadline for student applications for PSYCO 299 projects.
  • Mar 18: Student applications sent to faculty members.
April
  • Apr 3: Instructors top 3–5 choices of students due to Program Advisor (Associate Chair, Undergraduate).
  • Apr 7: Instructor approval of match due to Program Advisor (Associate Chair, Undergraduate).
  • Apr 14: Student–Instructor matches finalized.
September
  • Sept 1: PSYCO 299 projects begin for the Fall Term.
November
  • Nov 1: Student to submit two–page interim report to faculty member.
  • Nov 8: Faculty member to provide student with interim assessment.
December
  • Dec 7: Student to submit completed journal and two–page written report to faculty member.
  • Dec 22: Faculty will provide Psychology 299 Program Advisor with complete Student Assessment Form, including recommendation for credit/no–credit.
Winter 08
October
  • Oct 2: Deadline for submission of project descriptions by faculty (new projects only).
  • Oct 5: PSYCO 299 projects posted to the webpage.
November
  • Nov 1: Deadline for student applications for PSYCO 299 projects.
  • Nov 8: Student applications sent to faculty members.
