McGurk Effect Task: Instructions

This task is a replication of the McGurk effect. You will view and listen to video clips of a woman pronouncing syllables and then select the syllable you perceived in the video clip.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. You will begin each trial by clicking the "Ready" button.

2. The woman in the video clip will repeat the syllable 3 times. When the clip has finished, you will be given three response options.

3. Click the syllable you think you heard the woman say. Guess if you are unsure what you heard the woman say.

4. Then click the "Ready" button. The program will record your response and begin the next trial.
