Dr. Robert Hare - Later Academics

Dr. Hare has said about his career; “I happened to get into an area that nobody else was working in.” While Dr. Hare may have fallen into the area of psychopathy unintentionally, his career has spanned over three decades and he is the foremost expert in his area. Although he is now retired, Dr. Hare says he’s “busier now then ever before.” Not only is Dr. Hare internationally renowned for the PCL-R, but his various books on psychopaths have been wildly successful. In fact his recent best-seller Snakes in Suits: When Psychopaths Go To Work is being translated into Finnish!
Dr. Hare is also heavily involved with law enforcement. “Law enforcement has accepted all this stuff on psychopathy as a way of understanding what they do, not only parole and risk assessment, but crime scene analysis, interview procedures.” By applying what Dr. Hare has done the FBI has been able to solve several serial murders. Dr. Hare also sits on many law enforcement boards and committees in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
