Dr. Fergus Craik - Early Academics

The excellent high school paid off. "I liked science in general (except for the mathematics) and biology in particular, so a career in medicine seemed a sensible choice." As such, Gus was enrolled in medical school at the University of Edinburgh by age 18.

Medical school, however, was not what Gus expected. He had trouble deriving meaning from his anatomy classes: "I found it tiresome and onerous to learn catalogs such as the 47 anterior relations of the kidney" and "rather disliked the company of sick people". Neurology, however, piqued his interest and inspired Gus to cut his losses at medical school, and learn about psychology instead.
