Welcome to ITRL ePortfolio!

This page is an ePortfolio resource for the University of Alberta's Department of Psychology. This resource was created in the Instructional Technology and Resources Lab and is available to all faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Psychology.

So what is this site all about?

The purpose of this Web site is to provide an accessible and easy to use resource for the presentation of professional information, even to individuals who have limited skills and experience with creating Web sites. This site provides the information, instruction, and support necessary for any user to construct an ePortfolio to present, share, and develop professional information.

What IS an ePortfolio?

An ePortfolio, or electronic portfolio, is essentially a digital representation of professional information and a collection of past accomplishments that serves to demonstrate an individual’s competencies.

An ePortfolio can potentially provide a user with a professional edge in job competitions, serve as a conduit for personal, academic, and professional information between staff and students, and function as a tool for personal improvement and self reflection. Whether it is a staff member displaying professional information (resume, collection of past works) to a potential employer, a graduate student building a personalized web space for academic information (research goals and projects, CV), or a student posting personal information (journal entries, reflective essays), every single user should be able to use an ePortfolio to learn new skills and further their professional development.
