Navigating Electronic Documents

Any number of electronic documents

  • Databases, file servers, desktops, gopher sites, etc.

How useful is general knowlege? Does one need to learn specific navigational aids for all different systems? What about standardization?

Searching for information in electronic documents can be difficult and frustrating

  • How much of this is due to user unfamiliarity? With bad information architecture design?
Interesting area of future study: does finding information accurately correlate with understanding content?
