I recently defended my PhD. thesis which examined waterstriders' spatial representations while hunting. I am currently reworking several chapters from my thesis for publication. I also have additional data collected over the course of my dissertation that still requires analysis and interpretation.

Besides work related to my thesis (i.e., waterstrider spatial representation), I am interested in other forms of spatial representation, both in physical and non-physical (e.g., cyberspace) environments. Other interests include predator-prey interactions.

In general, I approach my studies of behaviour from an ethological perspective, although I am also heavily influenced in my approach by aspects of sociobiology and behavioural ecology.

Finally, largely due to the amount of teaching I have done over the last few years, I have developed an interest in various pedagogical aspects of the use and value of information technology, such as interactive web sites, for teaching in the university setting.
