psycINFO vs google scholar
In the past, you may have used Google Scholar to find journal articles for your research. If you are on campus, you can often access the entire journal article. However, if you are off campus, you will usually only be able to access the abstract and not the complete journal. Abstracts are useful for determining whether you want to read the entire article for your research but they are not appropriate as sole sources for a university research project.
The library databases also tend to be more specific than Google Scholar which may return many irrelevant results. For example, searching psycINFO for stress will find only publications related to psychological and biological stress, but searching Google Scholar for stress will obtain results for mechanical and physical stress as well, which are not relevant for a psychology research project!
