addressing time sensitivity

Another aspect of accuracy relates to a requirement for timeliness in light of your topic.

The big question here is: how important is it for you to have current information? Typically, more current and up to date resources are considered more accurate, and are thus generally more accepted and valuable.

Scientific topics that are heavily researched, technology, and other rapidly developing industries often demand up-to-date information due to their quickly evolving nature. Other subjects, such as those concerning politics, business and other contemporary social issues, would also benefit from the use of current sources as they too tend to be very dynamic matters. By contrast, topics such as those that are historical in nature may require information that was created or interpreted during a particular time period. In this case, more current resources may be deemed inappropriate, and even inaccurate given the context in which the information is required.
